KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed the belief that peace would be established only through self-discipline, mutual goodwill and social tolerance.

The former Head of State took to the social platform X to extend her best wishes on the occasion of the Mahashivaratri festival today.

She stated that the festivals and celebrations that we observe will enhance the spirit of mutual unity and tolerance.

“May this festival, celebrated by Hindus all over the world, including Nepal, who worship Lord Shiva inspire everyone to walk on the righteousness path. Today is also the foundation day of the Nepali Army. I wish the Nepali Army success in making a mark in the international arena by remaining committed to the security of the country and its people,” the former President wrote on X.
