Minister Gurung blames previous govt for grey list status
Gurung assured that the current government is committed to making the necessary improvements within the next year to remove Nepal from the grey list.

KATHMANDU: Prithvi Subba Gurung, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, stated that Nepal’s inclusion in the grey list was due to the actions of the previous government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday following a Cabinet meeting at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Gurung emphasized that the previous government was responsible for Nepal’s placement on the grey list due to corruption and failure to implement necessary legal reforms.
He pointed out that the country had not undertaken the required actions as per the recommendations of the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG), which led to Nepal being included in the grey list.
Gurung assured that the current government is committed to making the necessary improvements within the next year to remove Nepal from the grey list.
Despite criticisms from the opposition, Gurung stated that the ruling government must accept the moral responsibility for the country’s inclusion in the grey list, as it was under their leadership that the failure occurred.
He assured that with planned reforms and improvements in policies, legal frameworks, and implementation, the government would work diligently to remove Nepal from the grey list.
