KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) lawmaker Thakur Prasad Gaire has called the rising corruption in the country a matter of shame.

Speaking during a special session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he said, “Corruption, bribery, and commission-based practices are increasing. We must present the facts in Parliament and create an environment for action.”

Gaire emphasized the need for collective effort to fulfill the responsibility of building a society based on good governance and social justice.

Highlighting the role of ordinances in opening the path for development, he added that the UML is committed to ending instability and chaos, working towards leading the country towards socialism.

He also stressed the need for a stronger approach to combating corruption.
