MP Rekha Sharma accuses govt of forcing decisions in Parliament

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Rekha Sharma has accused the government of bypassing parliamentary procedures and forcing decisions in Parliament.

Speaking during a special session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Sharma alleged that even bills approved by parliamentary committees were being amended by ministers.

She criticized the government for issuing ordinances without withdrawing bills under parliamentary discussion and claimed that committee meetings were being held in ministers’ hotels.

Furthermore, she alleged that ruling party lawmakers were responding to questions raised by opposition leaders instead of the government itself.

Sharma called for an end to the government’s interference in parliamentary affairs.
