KATHMANDU: A clash broke out between two groups in Belaspur, located in Palhinandan Rural Municipality, Nawalparasi West.

During the altercation, a police vehicle was set on fire.

The conflict reportedly stemmed from a love marriage between a local couple, involving groups from Belaspur and Prasoni.

To control the situation, police fired three rounds of warning shots.

SSP Janardan Jisi of Lumbini Province confirmed the burning of the police vehicle and stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

To bring the situation under control, 50 additional police personnel were deployed from Rupandehi.
