Two killed, 5 injured in jeep accident in Baglung

KATHMANDU: A jeep accident in Baglung has left two people dead and five others injured.

The accident occurred on Monday evening when a pickup jeep (Lu 3 Cha 5569) traveling from Bhimgithe in Badigad Rural Municipality-7 to Daarling in Ward 10 lost control while stopping on an uphill road at Sarkipata.

The vehicle reportedly rolled backward before crashing.

According to Baglung District Police Office spokesperson DSP Bijay Yadav, the deceased have been identified as 75-year-old Khadkabahadur Kunwar of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-7, Cholang, and 35-year-old Juna Kandel of Dhorpatan Municipality-5.

The injured have been identified as 63-year-old Tejkumari Budha, 50-year-old Nimsara Budha, 52-year-old Thamkumari Poudel, and 30-year-old Sita Poudel, all residents of Badigad-9.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
