KATHMANDU: The ruling party, the CPN (Unified Socialist), has accused the government of protecting corrupt individuals.
In a central committee meeting held on Saturday, the party concluded that corruption is thriving within the government.
Party General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal, while announcing the meeting’s decisions, criticized the rise of corruption in the country.
He highlighted the hardships faced by the poor due to cooperative fraud, money lending exploitation, and online scams, which have resulted in the loss of savings for thousands of citizens.
The committee resolved to demand the government take immediate and stringent actions to control such corrupt activities and recover the embezzled funds.
Furthermore, Bhusal stated that with no employment opportunities available domestically, the increasing trend of youth migration abroad has negatively impacted national production and economic growth.
The party concluded that without a complete restructuring of the national economy, the issues cannot be resolved through mere policy adjustments.
The CPN (Unified Socialist) urged the government to take steps towards creating a sustainable and job-oriented national economy.
