KATHMANDU: Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Dhuraa Bahadur Pradhan, has urged the government to manage auctioned goods at customs in a timely manner.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, he expressed concerns over the prolonged delay in the auction of goods smuggled into the country, which has led to the loss of millions in revenue for the state.
He stated, “If the Ministry of Finance manages the confiscated goods from smuggling across customs offices in Nepal, the government can avoid revenue losses. A system of rewards could also be introduced in the process of managing these goods.”
Pradhan emphasized the need for the timely management of seized goods at customs offices nationwide.
