Landslide blocks Khandbari-Kimathanka road

KATHMANDU: A landslide has disrupted traffic on the Koshi Highway along the Khandbari-Kimathanka road section in Sankhuwasabha.

According to Bhote, chairperson of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality, the landslide occurred early this morning between Hatiya and Hunggung at Dhig Danda.

Large boulders have blocked the road, making travel impossible.

The landslide struck approximately 109 kilometers from the district headquarters, Khandbari.

As a result, vehicles traveling to and from Bhotkhola and Khandbari have been stranded. Reports indicate that around 30 meters of the road have been buried under debris.
