KATHMANDU: Comedian Sajan Shrestha has filed a complaint at the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police, citing threats to his and his family’s safety.

On Sunday, he revealed via social media that he received serious threats from a Facebook account named “Riday Tamrakar.”

Shrestha claimed the threats not only targeted him but also included rape threats directed at his sisters.

Sharing a copy of his complaint, he urged authorities to take legal action under Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act.

According to him, the threats emerged after he uploaded a video on Facebook on Feb 16, following which the account in question used his family’s photos to issue alarming threats.

Previously, Sajan Shrestha, along with fellow comedians Utsav Sapkota, Sujan Jimba, and podcaster Sushant Pradhan, faced a complaint for allegedly mocking singer Kuma Sagar.

Despite publicly apologizing through a video, Shrestha stated that he continues to receive threats.
