APF inspector found dead in Pokhara, investigation underway

KATHMANDU: Inspector Santoshi Mahat of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has been found dead in Pokhara. She was discovered hanging in the restroom of the Riot Control Training Center in Lamapatan, where she was undergoing training.

According to reports, Mahat was enrolled in the APF’s S.S. 17 basic training program.

She was found hanging with a nylon rope from a bamboo beam inside the restroom adjacent to the female trainees’ barracks.

A permanent resident of Laugarchhe-4, Sindhupalchowk, Mahat had joined the APF as a constable and was later promoted to Assistant Sub-Inspector before reaching the rank of Inspector.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
