NEPSE index rises 11.66 points, trading volume hits Rs 11.55 billion

KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a significant rise, increasing by 11.66 points to close at 2755.40.
A total of 328 companies saw trading of 21,266,000 shares, with 108,913 transactions.
The total transaction volume amounted to Rs 11.548 billion.
The banking sector saw a slight increase of 0.03%, while other sectors showed varying growth rates: investment grew by 1.33%, life insurance by 0.86%, production and processing by 2.78%, mutual funds by 0.02%, non-life insurance by 0.13%, and other sectors grew by 3.72%.
On the other hand, development banks dropped by 0.48%, finance companies by 0.45%, hotels and tourism by 0.50%, hydropower by 0.56%, microfinance by 0.66%, and the trading group saw a 1.32% decrease.
Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited saw its share price hit a positive circuit, while Reliance Finance Limited’s share price saw the largest drop of 7.24%.
In terms of transaction value and volume, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited topped the list with shares worth NPR 956.45 million, amounting to 9,906,372 shares traded.
