MP Bhattarai defends cable car project in Taplejung

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai has claimed that the construction of the cable car in Taplejung is being carried out as per constitutional provisions.

Speaking at Sunday’s House of Representatives meeting, Bhattarai stated that the government has assigned the responsibility of the project to a private entity in accordance with legal provisions.

While acknowledging the right to protest, he urged opponents to remain within reasonable limits.

He also accused anti-cable car protesters of throwing fire torches at local houses during a torch rally on Saturday night.

Calling the situation unfortunate in a democratic country like Nepal, Bhattarai emphasized the need for dialogue to resolve the issue.
