Speaking at the Finance Committee meeting on Sunday, during discussions on the Bill to Amend and Integrate Customs Laws, Rai emphasized the direct link between customs operations and the economy.
She stated that activities at customs checkpoints significantly impact the nation’s economic direction.
She questioned why Nepali customs agents were being sidelined, asking, “Why are Nepali customs agents unable to secure work?” Rai stressed that customs operations play a crucial role in shaping the country’s economic trajectory.
