MP Chhetri demands working calendar for committee meetings

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri has urged the committee to operate meetings based on a working calendar.

Speaking at the Finance Committee meeting on Sunday during discussions on the Customs Act Amendment and Integration Bill, he criticized the irregular scheduling of meetings.

Chhetri expressed dissatisfaction that only two meetings were held in 15 days despite his efforts to prioritize the bill over district-level programs.

He stated that if meetings are not scheduled properly, he would be unable to allocate time for them.

Furthermore, he demanded a clear timeline for completing the clause-wise discussion of the bill.

Criticizing the frequent delays, he warned that if future meetings continue to start late, he would also arrive two hours late as a form of protest.
