Citizens Bank opens 199th branch in Harisiddhi, expands network to 60 districts

KATHMANDU: Citizens Bank International Limited has expanded its branch network by inaugurating its 199th branch in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur.

With this addition, the bank now operates 40 branches within the Kathmandu Valley and 56 in Bagmati Province.

The new branch was officially inaugurated on Sunday by the bank’s Chair, Prabal Jung Pandey. Speaking at the ceremony, he emphasized the bank’s commitment to providing accessible and secure banking services while expressing confidence that the Harisiddhi branch would become the preferred choice for local customers.

The event was attended by board members, the Chief Executive Officer, senior management officials, local government representatives, business leaders, industry heads, and community dignitaries.

The new branch will offer a full range of retail banking services, with a special focus on enhancing financial access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

To mark the launch, customers opening new accounts will receive a free corporate mobile and internet banking service for the first year.

Additionally, discounts will be offered on demat account fees, with a 25% reduction in mandatory deposits for locker services and a 50% discount on the first year’s locker rental.

Citizens Bank recently won the prestigious “Bank of the Year 2024” award and became the first bank in Nepal to introduce the “Citizens PhonePay Credit Card,” a virtual credit card in partnership with PhonePay. Furthermore, the bank’s mobile banking app now allows users to apply for shares and access CRN services.

Currently, Citizens Bank serves 1.85 million customers across 60 districts through its extensive network of 199 branches, 164 ATMs, 3 extension counters, and 74 branchless banking units.
