After Fernandez’s goal in the 9th minute, Chelsea led 1-0 at halftime. Asensio equalized in the 57th minute, and with just one minute left in the match, he scored the decisive goal for Villa.
With the win, Villa sits 7th with 42 points from 27 games, while Chelsea, with one game less, is 6th with 43 points. Liverpool leads the table with 61 points from 26 matches.
In other Saturday matches, West Ham defeated Arsenal 1-0, and Wolves beat Bournemouth 1-0.
Brighton triumphed 4-0 over Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur won 4-1 against Ipswich Town, and Everton drew 2-2 with Manchester United.
