Everest Bank opens 130th & 131st branches in Koshi Province
The Phidim branch was inaugurated on Feb 20, while the Phungling branch opened on Feb 21.

KATHMANDU: Everest Bank Limited has officially inaugurated its 130th branch in Phidim, Panchthar, and its 131st branch in Phungling, Taplejung.
The bank aims to provide modern, sustainable, and reliable banking services to customers in the eastern hilly districts of Koshi Province.
The Phidim branch was inaugurated on Feb 20, while the Phungling branch opened on Feb 21.
With the launch of these branches, residents of Panchthar and Taplejung will have access to easy, efficient, and technology-friendly banking services.
The expansion ensures that customers in these regions can benefit from nationwide-standard financial solutions.
The inauguration ceremonies were attended by Everest Bank Director Kiran Kumar Shrestha, Deputy CEO Bijay Kumar Sharma, Koshi Province Head Sudhir Gautam, along with local government representatives.
Phidim’s event saw the presence of Mayor Mitra Prasad Kafle, while Fungling’s ceremony was graced by Mayor Amir Maden.
Other officials from the Nepal government, local organizations, bank employees, and enthusiastic locals were also present.
Everest Bank believes this expansion will enhance financial activities in the region, contributing to overall economic growth.
The bank has further announced plans to extend its reach to underserved areas, ensuring broader financial inclusion.
Established in partnership with Punjab National Bank India, Everest Bank currently serves over 1.4 million customers across Nepal. It operates 131 branches, four extension counters, seven provincial offices, and 167 ATMs nationwide.
The bank offers advanced mobile, internet, and SMS banking services, along with 32 revenue collection centers for the Nepal government.
Additionally, it has set up representative offices in New Delhi and other international locations to facilitate cross-border banking.
