KATHMANDU: Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al-Nassr faced a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League on Friday at Al Awwal Park, Riyadh.

Despite taking the lead twice, Al-Nassr failed to secure the win.

Georginio Wijnaldum was the hero for Al-Ettifaq, scoring twice, while Nassr conceded an own goal.

Ayman Yahya and Mohammed Al Fatil were on target for Al Nassr.

Yahya opened the scoring in the 47th minute, but Wijnaldum equalized in the 55th minute.

Al-Nassr regained the lead through Al-Fatil in the 65th minute, but disaster struck in the 82nd minute when Fatil scored an own goal, bringing Ettifaq back into the game.

In the dying moments, Wijnaldum netted his second goal, sealing the victory for Ettifaq. Al-Nassr’s woes worsened as Jhon Durán received a red card in injury time, reducing the team to 10 men.

With this win, Al-Ettifaq climbed to eighth place with 28 points from 21 matches, while Al-Nassr dropped to fourth with 44 points from the same number of games.
