Nepal enters final of International Women’s Football Tournament

KATHMANDU: Nepal has secured a spot in the final of the International Women’s Football Tournament after a crucial 1-0 victory over Lebanon at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwar.

With this win, Nepal advanced to the final with a game to spare.

Myanmar has also booked its place in the final, defeating Kyrgyzstan 5-0 in an earlier match today.

Sabitra Bhandari was the hero for Nepal, scoring the decisive goal in the 42nd minute.

Her shot deflected off Lebanese defender Farah and found the net, securing Nepal’s second consecutive victory.

With six points in the tournament, Nepal will face Myanmar in the final group-stage match on February 23 at 6 PM.

Earlier that day, Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan will compete at 2 PM.
