KATHMANDU: India lost the toss in their opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy against Bangladesh on Wednesday.
At the Dubai Cricket Stadium in the UAE, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bowl first.
The tournament features the top eight teams from the ODI World Cup held in India two years ago.
The participating teams are divided into two groups.
Group A consists of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B includes Australia, Afghanistan, England, and South Africa.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
The final is scheduled for March 9.
