Pokhara balloon explosion: Mayor Acharya discharged
Mayor Acharya was discharged from Kirtipur Hospital in Kathmandu on Thursday.
KATHMANDU: Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya has been discharged from the hospital after sustaining injuries in a balloon explosion during the inauguration ceremony of Pokhara Visit Year 2025.
Mayor Acharya was discharged from Kirtipur Hospital in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Announcing his recovery on Facebook, he stated:
“Due to a technical glitch during the formal announcement of Pokhara Visit Year 2025, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Hon. Bishnu Paudel and I sustained burn injuries and were admitted to Kirtipur Hospital for treatment. The Honorable Minister was discharged three days ago, and I have now been discharged this afternoon.”
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Paudel was also injured in the incident but had already been released from the hospital.
Mayor Acharya expressed gratitude to the medical team, healthcare workers, and hospital staff for their support during his treatment.
