KATHMANDU: The raw brick production season is currently underway, and workers at the Yapi Bhairab Chimney Brick Industry in Bhaktapur are busy carrying raw bricks on mules.
These workers create the bricks, which are then transported to the chimney for firing by the mules. In return, they are paid for their labor.
According to Rajjat Kajgar, a laborer from Nepalgunj, a mule can carry up to 350 bricks at once.
He mentioned that when a mule transports 1,000 bricks, they earn 450 rupees.
There are currently three groups of laborers, including Rajjat’s group, who have arrived from Nepalgunj with mules to assist in this process.
Rajjat’s group consists of six workers with four horses and two mules.
