Politburo member Bidur Sapkota of CPN (Unified Socialist) passes aaway

KATHMANDU: Bidur Sapkota, a member of the Constituent Assembly and the Politburo of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has passed away.

The 59-year-old, a resident of Naubise, Mandandeupur Municipality-7, in the district, died this morning at the Helping Hands Community Hospital in Chabahil, Kathmandu, while receiving treatment.

Sapkota had been suffering from hypertension and diabetes for a long time.

He was admitted to the hospital on the Feb 16 due to lung complications, as confirmed by fellow Politburo member Tokbahadur Waiba.

The late leader is survived by his wife and one daughter.

Following Sapkota’s death, the CPN (Unified Socialist) has postponed today’s scheduled Central Committee meeting.
