KATHMANDU: Egypt’s Foreign Ministry has postponed the emergency Arab summit on the Palestinian issue, originally scheduled for March 4 in Cairo.

The decision was made in coordination with Bahrain, the current chair of the Arab League (AL), and the AL Secretariat, following consultations with Arab states to ensure thorough preparations for the summit.

The Cairo summit was set to address the latest developments related to Palestine and the Gaza Strip.

The postponement comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to sustain the Gaza ceasefire, which began on Jan 19, and growing tensions over the United States’ controversial proposals concerning Gaza’s future.
