President Paudel attends special ceremony on Democracy Day 2081

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Democracy Day 2081, President Ram Chandra Paudel participated in a special ceremony organized by the Main Event Committee at the Nepali Army Pavilion, Tundikhel.
The event featured the national anthem, flag hoisting, and a moment of silence to honor known and unknown martyrs.
A banner marking Democracy Day 2081 was displayed from a Nepali Army helicopter, accompanied by a flower shower and the release of colorful balloons.
The ceremony also showcased a march past and band performances by the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Scouts. Cultural floats and traditional performances, including the Lakhe Dance and Taekwondo, were presented by various municipalities from the Kathmandu Valley.
In attendance were Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devaraj Ghimire, Chairperson of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, Members of Parliament, heads and officials of constitutional bodies, senior government officers, diplomatic representatives, and various social leaders.
The day commemorates the historic achievement of the 2007 revolution, which secured human rights and political freedom after a long struggle against autocracy.
Democracy Day is celebrated annually on Falgun 7 to honor this significant victory.
