KATHMANDU: Nepal celebrated its 75th Democracy Day with a special ceremony at Tundikhel, commemorating the historic end of the 104-year Rana regime.
The event, held annually on this day, honors the establishment of democracy in the country.
President Ram Chandra Paudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, ministers, and high-ranking officials attended the program.
To mark the occasion, the Nepal Army showered flowers from a helicopter bearing the “National Democracy Day 2081” banner. White doves, symbolizing peace, and colorful balloons were also released into the sky.
The government declared a public holiday to observe the occasion.
