PM Oli highlights significance of Democracy on 75th National Democracy Day

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the historical importance of Feb 19 (Falgun 7), marking it as the day when Nepalis transitioned from subjects to citizens through immense sacrifices.

Extending his best wishes on the occasion of the 75th National Democracy Day on Wednesday, PM Oli stated, “Today is one of the most significant days in our history, a day of transformation achieved through sacrifice and struggle. I extend my heartfelt greetings to all democracy-loving Nepalis on this proud and historic occasion.”

He also paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the fight against autocracy, including Shukraraj Shastri, Dharma Bhakta Mathema, Dasharath Chand, and Gangalal Shrestha.
