KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal has taken disciplinary action against 120 personnel for posting images and videos of themselves in official uniforms, engaging in activities contrary to organizational directives, on social media platforms.

The personnel under investigation include four Police Sub-Inspectors, five Assistant Inspectors, six Senior Sergeants, three Sergeants, nine Assistant Sergeants, 91 constables, and two attendants.

The disciplinary measures include warnings, suspension of promotions, verbal counseling, and advisories to correct their behavior.

Kumar Neupane, spokesperson for the APF, confirmed the action and stated that the force has set up a Social Media Monitoring Branch to regulate the conduct of its staff on digital platforms.

Additionally, the APF Headquarters has directed relevant offices to take immediate action against 28 personnel found uploading inappropriate content on social media, and has instructed them to report the details promptly.
