MP Shakti Bahadur Basnet accuses govt. of lacking accountability

KATHMANDU: MP Shakti Bahadur Basnet of the CPN (Maoist Center) has accused the government of failing to be accountable.

Speaking at Tuesday’s House of Representatives meeting, he criticized ministers for using the parliamentary platform to make baseless remarks about civil servants.

Basnet emphasized that it is natural for the opposition to question the government but deemed counter-questioning by the government inappropriate.

He also raised concerns over alleged collusion in contract allocations and demanded a clear response from the government.

He further stated that instead of addressing concerns, the government is engaging in counter-questioning.
