Surya Thapa accuses Prachanda of covering up corruption

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML MP Surya Bahadur Thapa targeted CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, commenting on the ongoing investigation into the Shera Durbar case.
Speaking during the parliamentary session on Tuesday, Thapa emphasized that the matter had surfaced and that Chairman Dahal had given a vague response.
He stated that such unclear answers would not lead to proper investigation.
Thapa further clarified that the legal bodies responsible for investigation were already looking into the case.
He pointed out that corruption had become a major issue in the country and called for an end to the practice of raising corruption cases without conducting thorough investigations.
He also questioned the opposition leader’s remarks regarding a person facing corruption charges worth nearly two billion rupees, asking whether such statements were an attempt to cover up corruption under the guise of revenge.
