Accident in Sunsari: Bus collides with motorcycle, 50-year-old woman dies

KATHMANDU: A road accident occurred on Monday afternoon in Sunsari, at the Hulash Factory area of Duhabi Municipality-8.

A bus, with the registration number Ko 1 Kha 7023, traveling from Biratnagar towards Itahari, collided with a motorcycle bearing the number Province 1-02-056 Pa 5593.

The motorcyclist, 50-year-old Chhimi Maya Budhathoki from Itahari-5, succumbed to her injuries at Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital in Budhiganga, Morang, after being critically injured in the crash.

The motorcycle rider, who also sustained injuries, is currently receiving treatment at Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar.

The police have taken the bus driver into custody and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
