NEPSE index rises for second consecutive day, trading volume hits Rs 10.04 billion

KATHMANDU: This week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has risen for the second consecutive day.

Today, the NEPSE increased by 29.87 points, reaching 2,727.91, marking a 1.10% rise.

A total of 302 companies saw 18,081,168 shares traded in 102,861 transactions, amounting to a total business of Rs 10.04 billion.

The banking sector rose by 2.16%, the hotel and tourism sector by 2.29%, microfinance by 2.45%, and other sectors by 2.47%.

Meanwhile, development banks saw a 0.33% increase, investment firms rose by 0.20%, life insurance increased by 0.89%, production and processing rose by 0.77%, mutual funds gained 0.52%, and non-life insurance grew by 1.07%.

However, three groups saw declines: the finance sector dropped by 0.84%, hydropower fell by 0.15%, and the trade sector decreased by 1.27%.

Shares of six companies saw positive circuits, including Bin Nepal Microfinance Financial Institution Ltd., Gurans Microfinance Financial Institution Ltd., Kuthli Bukhari Small Hydropower Ltd., Skull Development Bank Ltd., Guardian Micro Life Insurance Ltd., and Divyashwori Hydropower Ltd., all increasing by 10%. On the other hand, the share price of Sapta Koshi Development Bank Ltd. experienced a negative circuit.

In terms of trading volume, Nepal Insurance Company Ltd. topped the list with transactions amounting to Rs 327.44 million.

Kumari Bank Ltd. recorded the highest number of shares traded, with 41,603,349 shares bought and sold.
