Three Nepali pilgrims die in road accident
Five others, including the driver, sustained injuries in the crash.

KATHMANDU: Three Nepali pilgrims lost their lives in a road accident while returning from the Kumbh Mela in India.
The victims, who had traveled from Devdaha, Rupandehi, met with the accident on Monday, according to Inspector Mukesh Nyaupane of the Belahiya Area Police Office.
The deceased have been identified as Ganesh Khanal (45), his wife Deepa Khanal (35), and Geeta Sharma (40), all residents of Devdaha Municipality-9.
The accident occurred on the Azamgarh-Varanasi road in Uttar Pradesh when their vehicle, bearing the Indian registration number UP 53 FD 4288, crashed into a road divider.
Five others, including the driver, sustained injuries in the crash.
Preliminary investigations by Indian police suggest that the driver may have dozed off, leading to the accident.
The injured have been identified as Kopila Pokharel from Bhulahi, Devdaha, her son Subham Pokharel, Aviskar Parajuli, Yamkala Devi Magar, and the vehicle’s driver, Indian national Ritesh Dubey.
They were given primary treatment at a local hospital before being referred to Gorakhpur for further medical care.
