Samba returns home for Four-Nation Women’s Football Tournament

KATHMANDU: Nepali national women’s football team forward Sabitra Bhandari (Samba) has returned home to participate in the upcoming Four-Nation Women’s Football Tournament organized in Nepal.
Currently playing professional football in France, Samba landed in Kathmandu ahead of Nepal’s match against Kyrgyzstan, scheduled for 6 PM today.
She was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) spokesperson Suresh Shah and other officials.
Before Samba’s arrival, goalkeeper and team captain Anjila Tumbapo Subba, who plays in Greece, and Rekha Poudel, who competes in the UAE league, had already joined the national squad.
The tournament features Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and Lebanon.
Matches will follow a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final.
