KATHMANDU: Dr. Chandra Bhandari, a leader of the Nepali Congress and member of parliament, visited Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya at the hospital after they were injured in a fire in Pokhara.

Bhandari visited them at the burn hospital in Kirtipur on Saturday, where he was relieved to learn from doctors that both were out of danger.

Reflecting on his own painful past, Bhandari expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured leaders.

He recalled a fire that severely affected his own life two years ago, when his house caught fire on the 3rd of Falgun.

In a heartfelt post on social media, titled “Life, Fire, and Rebirth,” he shared the trauma of losing his mother in the blaze. “The cruel flames of the fire took my mother into eternal sleep. That moment felt like my soul had been consumed. But time is a miraculous healer. Slowly, the scars of the fire are healing, and I am learning to live again,” Bhandari wrote.

He expressed relief upon learning from doctors that Paudel and Acharya were now safe and out of danger.
