SCT & NCHL partner to enable Alipay+ payments via Smart QR
Following this partnership, over 1.6 billion Alipay+ users can now make payments to merchants affiliated with Smart QR in Nepal.
KATHMANDU: SmartChoice Technologies Ltd. (SCT) and Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL), both licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), have signed an agreement to facilitate cross-border payments through Alipay+ using Smart QR.
Alipay+ currently enables international payments via e-wallets and mobile banking services in China, the Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries.
Following this partnership, over 1.6 billion Alipay+ users can now make payments to merchants affiliated with Smart QR in Nepal.
Smart QR, issued under Nepal QR Standard, is the country’s first interoperable QR code, complying with global EMV standards.
This collaboration is expected to significantly enhance the ease of receiving international payments for Smart QR merchants, catering to both local and foreign customers.
