Assault at dance bar: Man dies

KATHMANDU: A man has died following a violent altercation at a dance bar in Bardaghat, West Nawalparasi.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Sant Bahadur Chaudhary of Pratappur Rural Municipality-9, Khaireani.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at Nasha Restaurant & Dance Bar in Jamunabari, Bardaghat-13, on the night of Feb 10.
A dispute between two groups escalated into a physical fight, leaving Chaudhary critically injured. He was rushed to a hospital in Butwal, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday evening.
Police have arrested the bar owner, Rakesh Harijan, along with Amit Chaudhary of Pratappur-1 and Saroj Chaudhary from the same locality, on charges of involvement in the assault.
The fight allegedly broke out over filming a video inside the dance bar.
Two others, Mintu and Saroj Kumar Chaudhary, were also injured in the incident.
Authorities have filed a case of attempted murder against the arrested suspects at the Nawalparasi District Court.
Further investigation is underway, as announced by the District Police Office during a press conference on Thursday.
