The closing ceremony was led by Mahamandaleshwar 1008 Swami Atmananda Giri Ji Maharaj of Galeshwar Ashram, who emphasized the importance of religious tourism promotion in Devghat.
He highlighted that such grand religious events should continue to be organized in this sacred pilgrimage site.
Funds Raised for Charitable Causes
The Vishwa Jagaran Maha Abhiyan Trust, Chitwan, which organized the festival, announced that funds collected during the event would be utilized for the construction of Matapita Sewa Ashram and Devghat Divya Dham.
Bhagwat Katha narrator Ishwar Krishna Maharaj, the patron of the trust, expressed gratitude towards devotees for their overwhelming love, support, and contributions. He stated that the 365-room Matapita Sewa Ashram is under construction in Devghat Rural Municipality-5, Tanahun, aimed at providing long-term residential care for the elderly and the destitute. The Mahamahotsav was organized primarily to raise funds for this initiative.
Massive Participation and Record Donations
According to the Vishwa Jagaran Maha Abhiyan Trust, more than 2.5 million devotees attended the Mahamahotsav in person.
The festival generated over Rs 2 billion, and a press conference will soon be held to provide transparency on income and expenses.
High-Profile Attendance
The event saw the presence of several federal ministers, ministers from Gandaki and Bagmati provinces, top political leaders, members of the House of Representatives, National Assembly, and Provincial Assemblies, as well as senior government officials.
Popular spiritual narrators including Devi Pratibha, Anuradha Pandey, Om Prakash Subedi, and Yashoda Mata delivered religious discourses throughout the festival, enriching the spiritual atmosphere of the grand event.
