KATHMANDU: The student wing of the CPN-UML, ANNFSU, has accused the police of abducting and assaulting one of its student leaders.
In a statement, the organization’s president, Samik Badal, claimed that a police officer from the Durbar Marg area abducted and physically assaulted a leader from Askal Campus in the evening.
Badal further alleged that the officer, identifying himself as a representative of the Nepal Police, lured Prakash Byak, a member of the organization, under the pretext of assisting with the filling of a CSIT form and then proceeded to kidnap and beat him.
He condemned the unlawful actions of the Nepal Police, warning that the organization would resort to intense protests unless an investigation is conducted and the perpetrators are severely punished.
“The unlawful actions and abuse by the Nepal Police are reprehensible. We strongly demand an immediate investigation and punishment for those responsible. Otherwise, the organization will have no choice but to take firm and severe action against such activities,” the statement said.
