KATHMANDU: Liverpool dropped points in the English Premier League after Everton secured a dramatic 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

A last-gasp equalizer in the eighth minute of injury time saw Everton snatch a crucial point.

James Tarkowski and Beto were on target for Everton, while Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool.

Both teams took the lead at different stages but failed to hold on.

Beto put Everton ahead in the 11th minute, only for Mac Allister to level the score five minutes later. Salah gave Liverpool a 2-1 lead in the 73rd minute, but Tarkowski’s late equalizer stunned the Reds.

The match ended in controversy as Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucouré celebrated in front of Liverpool fans, sparking a furious reaction.

Liverpool’s Curtis Jones attempted to confront Doucouré, leading to both players receiving second yellow cards.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot also saw red after aggressively shaking hands with the referee, while assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff was also sent off.

Despite the setback, Liverpool remain top of the table with 57 points from 24 games, while Everton sit 15th with 27 points.
