Melamchi water supply pipe bursts in Babarmahal, govt. offices flooded

Authorities have warned that the incident will disrupt Kathmandu’s water supply network.

KATHMANDU: A major Melamchi drinking water pipeline burst in Babarmahal, flooding several government offices in the area.

According to Acting Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, SP Bishnu Joshi, the pipeline burst in front of the Kathmandu District Court.

As a result, the premises of the District Court, Special Court, and the Forest Complex have been inundated.

Authorities have warned that the incident will disrupt Kathmandu’s water supply network.

Nepal Police and Kathmandu Metropolitan Police teams are currently deployed at the site to manage the situation.
