Home Minister directs action against assaults on police

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar to investigate and take action against anyone involved in recent cases of assault and misconduct against police personnel.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs this morning, Minister Lekhak, along with senior police officials, expressed serious concern over rising incidents of attacks on security personnel.

He instructed the police to conduct thorough investigations and ensure swift legal action against those responsible.

Highlighting recent incidents in various parts of the country, Minister Lekhak stressed the need for increased police vigilance to maintain law and order.

“I have instructed that legal action be taken against anyone involved in such incidents, regardless of their identity,” he stated. “Anyone disrupting public security and attacking those safeguarding society will be brought to justice.”
