KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah’s song from the movie Laaj Sharanam has created a new record on YouTube.
Shortly after its release, the song Nepal Haseko entered YouTube’s trending list, becoming the fastest song to reach the No. 1 spot in the music section within 24 hours.
The song has also gained significant views.
Apart from Nepal, Nepal Haseko has trended on YouTube in five other countries, including Australia, the UAE, Qatar, Malta, and Kuwait.
Written, composed, and performed by Balen Shah, the song also features his rap and envisions a developed Nepal while portraying the current reality. The chorus includes vocals from Sara Khadgi, Manushi Poudel, Krisha Khadka, and others.
This is the first song released by Balen Shah after assuming office as mayor. The Laaj Sharanam team has labeled it as a promotional track for the movie.
A few days ago, Laaj Sharanam had also released another song titled Herda Herdai Ma. The film has been created by the team behind the popular comedy series Sakkigoni. Key members from the series, including writers, actors, and the director, are involved in the project.
The movie stars Sitaram Kattel ‘Dhurmus’ in the lead role and is directed by Kumar Kattel. Other actors include Arjun Ghimire, Sagar Lamsal, Harish Niraula, Priyana Acharya, Bijay Baral, Mahesh Tripathi, Arpan Thapa, Renu Yogi, Bijay Lama, Mukunda Shrestha, and Mala Limbu.
