Man falls to death after killing neighbors

RUKUM EAST: A man fleeing after attacking two neighbors with a khukuri fell off a cliff and died in Rukum East.

The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Chandrasingh Pun of Sakim, Bhume Rural Municipality-4.

According to District Police Chief DSP Madhav Kharel, Pun fatally attacked 60-year-old Dhati Budha and her eight-month-old grandson Samir Budha with a khukuri on Tuesday afternoon.

Following the murder, police launched an extensive manhunt. Pun was later found dead in the Khulkhule River.

His body had a deep head wound caused by a sharp weapon, DSP Kharel said.

Police suspect Pun fell off the cliff while trying to escape and sustained a fatal injury from his own khukuri.

The motive behind the killings is under investigation.
