KATHMANDU: A man attempted to attack police officers with a knife at a traffic intersection in Dhangadhi on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred around 8:15 PM when police officers on duty tried to take the suspect under control.

According to reports, 36-year-old Tek Bahadur Tamat was walking on the road wielding a knife while shouting “Har Har Mahadev.” When police attempted to apprehend him, a scuffle broke out.

A viral video circulating on social media shows the suspect resisting arrest and trying to attack the officers.

Police confirmed that Tamat, a resident of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-14, was arrested the same night and is currently in custody at the District Police Office.

However, authorities have not yet released an official statement with further details on the incident.
