NEPSE sees modest recovery after five-day decline
The benchmark index rose by 6.54 points, closing at 2,683.86.
KATHMANDU: After five consecutive trading days of decline, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight recovery on Tuesday.
The benchmark index rose by 6.54 points, closing at 2,683.86.
A total of 13.96 million shares of 299 companies were traded in 72,094 transactions today, resulting in a total turnover of NPR 7.24 billion.
Among sectoral indices, Development Bank gained 2.37%, Hydropower rose 1.57%, Investment increased by 0.48%, Manufacturing & Processing edged up by 0.01%, and Mutual Funds climbed 0.52%. However, all other sectors witnessed a decline.
Banking fell by 0.20%, Finance by 0.29%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.47%, Life Insurance by 0.08%, Microfinance by 0.04%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.43%, Trading by 1.05%, and Others by 0.01%.
Sikles Hydropower Ltd., Bhagwati Hydropower Development Co. Ltd., and Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Co. Ltd. hit the positive circuit limit today, while Bhugol Energy Development Co. Ltd. saw a negative circuit hit.
In terms of turnover, the highest trading value was recorded by CEDB Holdings Ltd. with NPR 368.18 million. Meanwhile, NIC Asia Growth Fund led in trading volume, with 712,100 shares exchanged.
