KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting has been postponed following obstruction from the opposition.

The session, which commenced at 1 PM on Tuesday, was disrupted after lawmakers from the CPN (Maoist Centre) and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) protested against allowing Nepali Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada to speak.

RSP lawmaker Ganesh Parajuli questioned the procedure under which Khatiwada was given time after the completion of the emergency and zero hours.

In response, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar clarified that Khatiwada was allowed to speak as she had inadvertently skipped the emergency time.

However, opposition lawmakers continued their protest, forcing the session to be postponed for 15 minutes.
