KATHMANDU: Ganesh Parajuli, a Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has criticized the Parliament’s proceedings, stating they are not following the parliamentary rules
Speaking during an unscheduled session on Tuesday, he accused the government of not adhering to the parliamentary procedures when raising objections.
Earlier, Mahesh Bartwal, the Chief Whip of the ruling party, CPN-UML, had also raised concerns about the procedural violations. Parajuli further accused the government of trying to control Parliament with the power of a two-thirds majority. He questioned, “Should the government teach us how to run Parliament, or should the Speaker use their discretion?”
Parajuli emphasized that any government interference in Parliament’s functioning would not be acceptable.
