Motorcyclist dies 11 days after collision in Itahari

KATHMANDU: A man who was injured in a motorcycle accident in Itahari has died 11 days later.

On Thursday, January 17, a collision occurred between a motorcycle (registration number Koshi Province-1-03-001P 3307) traveling from Dharan to Itahari and a magic van (registration number Province-1-02-002Ch 4841) attempting to turn onto the main highway from a side road at Anpgachi, Koshi Highway, Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City, Ward No. 1.

The motorcycle rider, 35-year-old Ganesh Limbu from Miriding, Taplejung, and his pillion passenger, 35-year-old Mina Limbu, were injured in the crash.

Both were receiving treatment at Birat Nursing Home.

Despite treatment, Ganesh Limbu, who sustained severe injuries, passed away on Monday, Feb 10, at around 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, Mina Limbu is still receiving care at the hospital.

The magic van driver, 39-year-old Mukti Bahadur Gurung from Itahari-5, is in police custody.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
